Improve adding UX Elements to scene

Open thalbern opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

Describe the problem

Currently it's quite a challenge to add any of our UX features to a scene because it usually requires several components with quite a complex setup.

Describe the solution you'd like

Provide an easier way / utilities to add fully set up UX elements to the scene. eg context menu or menu option "create MRTK button"

I would like to add: it's also not just about adding the right components but configuring them too. BoundingBox is a great example because even if I add the script component to a new GameObject it does not behave in the same way as in the MRTK example scenes. The right materials and sound effects and related parameters have not been set

But love this idea of getting quicker development time!

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for reporting this issue.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit version 2 (MRTK2) is currently in limited support. This means that Microsoft is only fixing high priority security issues. Unfortunately, this issue does not meet the necessary priority and will be closed. If you strongly feel that this issue deserves more attention, please open a new issue and explain why it is important.

Microsoft recommends that all new HoloLens 2 Unity applications use MRTK3 instead of MRTK2.

Please note that MRTK3 was released in August 2023. It features an all new architecture for developing rich mixed reality experiences and has a minimum requirement of Unity 2021.3 LTS. For more information about MRTK3, please visithttps://www.mixedrealitytoolkit.org.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mixed Reality Toolkit!
