Bug Description
I am unable to sign in to Azure Storage Explorer with my work/school account. The application appears to force authentication against the "Microsoft Services" (personal/consumer) tenant instead of my home tenant, resulting in a blocking error.

Connection Type
Sign in (subscription)
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Azure Storage Explorer.
- Open the Connect dialog or Account Management panel.
- Select Add an account.
- Choose Azure Active Directory (default options).
- Complete the sign-in prompt (either via Integrated Sign-in or Default Web Browser).
Actual Experience
The sign-in fails immediately with the following error:
"Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application 'e0001ebd-e920-49b8-a27e-92e573ec0af6' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account."
Expected Experience
The account is added successfully, and I can filter/select my subscriptions.
Additional Context
The account is valid. I can access resources using the Azure Portal and Azure PowerShell without issues.
Troubleshooting Tried:
- Removed all accounts from the UI.
- Switched "Sign in with" setting to "Default Web Browser".
- Cleared local cache/config (AppData).
Observation: The App ID in the error (e0001ebd-e920-49b8-a27e-92e573ec0af6) corresponds to the Storage Explorer app itself. The issue seems to be the application targeting the wrong authority (Microsoft Services) during the token request.

@MorneAppenate We are currently investigating. There may be issues external to Storage Explorer at play.
Are you still encountering this issue? Does the issue still occur when using authentication broker for sign in method?
This issue is still persisting as I am also getting it. Attempted logging out, changing accounts, and even re-inviting the account.
I've started seeing this same error as well. But unlike the OP it only appears to happen on my personal MS accounts, my work/school account can sign in ok.
I've tried all the different Authenticated Broker, Device Code & Default Browser "Sign in with" options, they all return the same error.

Also experiencing the same issue - as with the previous poster, I am getting the error when trying to log in to my personal MS account (which has an active PAYG Azure subscription with resources created under it).
If you are encountering this issue, please share your authentication logs to help in our investigation. We recommend switching the log level to Verbose in the settings.
I am also facing same issue, here are the details
