Is this bug report about any UI component firmware like InkHUD or Meshtatic UI (MUI)?

  • [ ] Meshtastic UI aka MUI colorTFT
  • [ ] InkHUD ePaper
  • [ ] OLED slide UI on any display

Firmware Version

2.6.10.9ce4455 Alpha

Description

I have 4 Nodes (2x Lilygo T-LoRa T3-S3, 1x Heltec Mesh Node T114 v2.0, 1x RAK WisBlock 4631). All these Meshtastic-Devices devices did not show up anymore on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (Android 15, OneUI 7.0) when searching for BT-Devices. This had been working before the phone got the Firmware-Upgrade from Android 14 to 15. Something must have happened between these versions. This is not an App-Issue. I also tried to "Reset all WLAN and BT Settings" which is an option in the phone menu.

Tried other (older) devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy A52 (Android 14, OneUI 6.1) = working
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (Android 13, OneUI 5.1.1) = working
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (Android 12, OneUI 4.1) = working
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 (Android 15) = not working

Also tried Firmware 2.6.4.b89355f Beta, same behavior.

So what I found out is, that if you enable and enter the DEVELOPER OPTIONS of your phone and enable "Show unsupported Bluetooth LE devices in Settings", it's working again without any problems. Question: Why are Meshtastic-Devices "unsupported" even though they're working? Is it a missing certificate or can it be fixed easily? I bet a lot of users will run into this problem soon. I searched for 2 weeks before I found the solution.
