Private registry authentication or package ignore list

Open ricovitch opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

We are using an internal registry, that requires authentication. Since howfat does not reuse npmrc configuration for authentication and does not provide parameters for that neither, it is not possible to use it for projects that depends on internal libraries.

Another approach could be to provide a --ignore parameter where we could set a list of internal packages to ignore.

I have no plans to implement such a feature currently

I can understand. Just thought that could be useful for others, and maybe someone could contribute the feature at some point. The root issue would be to support npmrc configuration for private registries with authentication, but I believe this could be more complex to implement.

👋 thanks for a great library. I'd love private reg support too. If i can find someone to work on this and send a PR @megahertz would you be open to it? or are you fundamentally against adding it to the library?

@Stono, sure. Such a PR is welcome.
