Task starts, but video download never starts
I looks like sometime in January videos stopped downloading automatically for me, with no external environment changes. I restarted everything, and also updated it to the latest image as of this post, but the following sequence happens:
- TubeSync starts with no errors
- It then activates a background_task and says it "Downloading media" for a video
- No progress ever happens after that
When a task starts, the cache folder gets a new folder that looks like .yt_dlp*. On each subsequent restart or new task start a new one with a different name appears. Nothing ever shows up in those folders. For one task it tried, the subtitles file showed up in the cache folder.
I have tried:
- Removing the cookies.txt
- Manually deleting a background_task entry that is stuck. All it does is goes to the next task and gets stuck.
- docker-compose down && docker-compose up -d
Is there a way to start the docker version with a more verbose logging mode so that I can post more information?

There is a TUBESYNC_DEBUG environment variable that you can set for much more logging.
Be sure to pull the latest image and that your database tables are using the uuid type.

I'm having the same issue. Just updated an hour ago. I have a postgres db, does anything have to be done for that one like it does for mariadb?
@garbled1
I'm having the same issue.
That's unlikely. Please open your own issue and provide as much information as you can about what you see.

No. The UUID change was specific to MariaDB.
@pfeiffee Can this issue be closed now?
