Cannot open old KeepNote files

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When I try to open file I got message to backup old file"
Notebook update:
this notebook has format version 3 and must be updated to format version

2.  Then I can choose to backup file but once continue (backup or not) getting 
error:
Cannot open notebook (version too old).


What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To open files. "Cannot open notebook (version too old)"


What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I installed Keepnote 0.6.6 on Win 7 Home Premium. 
I tried this also on portable KN 0.7.8 on XP Proffesional Version 2002
