Feature suggestion - links to expertnal documents

As a long-time old user of InfoSelect, I love your program! InfoSelect got too 
bloated and too expensive, so I gave it up. 

You're program is exactly what I miss from the early versions of InfoSelect. 

* What is the expected output? What do you see instead?  (Feature suggestion)

Within KeepNote, I want to link to a document on my harddrive so, when I click 
the link, it launches the appropriate external application. 

This would allow me to use KeepNote to organize my hard drive. 

For example:  In KeepNote, I could maintain an annotated list of work-related 
Word, Excel and "PDFs" in their original file forms. I find the document I want 
and then launch it from within keepnote. 

* What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I use the current version of keepnote on Xubuntu 13
