The modal won't work to me as it comes in the tutorial

I have added the modal, which should open as it comes from here, in the basic example: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/standard/components/modal/

But it won't open. I downloaded the startup app from the documentation, which is for Angular 16. I didn't added any dependency after the installation for the ones that came with it. But it won't open and it won't throw me an error. What could be wrong? Could you give me a hint?

Tutorial is for the Standard version of the package. It is not suppose to work in the Angular app.
