Went to the SteamVR "tab" selection to mess with SS, crashes the entire program.

What version are you running (both Advanced Settings and SteamVR)?

The newest SteamVR Beta (the one introducing SteamVR Home) changed some things internally which causes a crash in Advanced Settings v2.3 and earlier. This should be fixed in v2.4. But as a side-effect v2.4 only works with the newest Beta, and will crash on earlier SteamVR versions.

Using SteamVR beta and 2.4 of Advanced Settings.

Edit: Just tried to start up SteamVR again and even without Revive the icon disappeared again when trying to click on one of the sub menus :(

(below old message, seems not to be the right solution :/)

I had the same issue and looked into the log file which indicated there's some problem with Revive. After uninstalling Revive, OpenVR Advanced Settings works again. (log file is in C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\matzman666)

I have uploaded version 2.4.1 that completely disables sounds (which were the cause of the crashes). Could you try again?

matzman666 avatar May 21 '17 12:05 matzman666

It works now! Tried two separate sessions and now crash to be seen. Seems to be fixed with 2.4.1. Thanks for the quick bug fix!

I also have the OVRAS overlay go away and the bubble icon disappear from the Steam dashboard when clicking a submenu.

I'm running the latest SteamVR beta from June 1st. Steam API v017 package version 1496344747. I hadn't used OVRAS in a few months, but I uninstalled it and installed 2.4.1 from the .exe installer, rebooted, but have the same symptoms described in this issue.

I discovered that in the bottom right OVRAS was showing 2.0 as a version. I'm not sure how the uninstall failed to work, but I managed to delete a few places where some references to OVRAS remained in my Downloads and Program Files, then redownloaded the standalone and tried again and now see 2.4.1 with working submenus.
