Regression: subpixel rendering disappeared in HTML-CSS and Common HTML last month

Issue Summary

OS:Windows 11 Browser: Pale Moon 31.0.0

The subpixel hinting had disappeared and the formulas became unreadable. They are rendered in greyscale.

Now, subpixel rendering works in the following math renderers: Preview HTML, MathML Does not work in: HTML-CSS, Common HTML.

The problem can be seen on Math.Stackexchange site.

Technical details:

  • MathJax Version: MathJax v2.7.5
  • Client OS: Windows 11
  • Browser: PaleMoon 31.0.0

MathJax v2.7 has not been updated this year, and no changes have occurred in he last month. Was there a browser update? Or did you update Windows? If there was a change in functionality, it was not due to any changes in MathJax v2.
