no background playing when I switch the app

I'm going to listen to some song. Someone talks to me on an IM (eg: jabber) so I bring up the jabber app (it happens with every app, not just IM) and VieeTube stops playing the song.

Apps that use audio (e.g. messengers) usually ask other apps to pause their audio streams.

But I'm talking about apps like Slide (Reddit app) or Etar (Calendar).

How much RAM do you have? If you are on Lollipop and up and have less than 1GB of RAM, there just isn't enough space for it.

I'm using Webtube 1.1 from F-droid on my BQ Aquaris M5 (3GB) with Android 6.0

So RAM shouldn't really be a problem. I will try to see what's going on.

I experience this as well on my Nexus 6 with CyanogenMod 14.1. Whenever I switch to any app it pauses playback. By contrast, simply turning off my screen does not pause playback.

Is WebTube in fullscreen when you switch apps? I get the behaviour you describe when in fullscreen. When not in fullscreen, I can switch apps with playback continuing in the background
