portable app for windows?
hello, is it possible to make it a portable app by simply moving the installation folder to a usb? are there files that are gonna be created regardless of where the .exe file is located?
thanks!
pd also, it should be nice if you guys could add a lyrics viewer as a side panel.
A portable version is tricky, because in order to get so small compared to the previous Electron version, Museeks rely on dependencies to be installed on your system, namely:
- WebView2
- ˋvcredist`
The installers make basically sure those are here.
There also other gotchas, which may not provide a perfect experience.

So, TLDR, I could provide one, but it would be marked as potentially unstable/not working, and that would be on the users responsibility to ensure dependencies are here.
On lyrics, the answer is "it depends".
Some folks in https://github.com/martpie/museeks/issues/308 have mentioned using Musixmatch.
Another solution is using the Lyrics stored in the files and display them (easy, but not a lot of files do that).
The TLDR is Museeks is not going to pay for anything here. Museeks does not generate any revenue and does not intend to.
So if there is a way for a user to provide its own token/API key, why not. Otherwise, meh.
