Dock Playback Actions

Please consider adding support for a macOS Dock contextual menu with playback controls (e.g., play/pause, skip, previous track). Tidal's implementation is nice. This enhances user experience by providing quick access to music controls without opening the app.

Yep, this has been a regression since 0.20. If this is a dealbreaker, you can can use Museeks 0.13.1

  • I'm stuck on this issue due to an upstream issue, there is not much I can do without going back to Electron, which is really not gonna happen.
  • macOS integration support keyboard playback events + the playback controls on the top bar already, hoping that can be a workaround for you in the meantime.

Understood. And I appreciate the reply.

The problem with the playback controls in top bar is that there's no way (to my knowledge) to designate these controls to a simple app. In my case, I'd want to have it only control Museeks. I've seen YouTube in there, all sorts of stuff. It's just ridiculous and I can't use it as a result. I know that's obviously not on you but yeah, not an option for me. It is what it is.

What do you mean? :) I see controls for each app

As you know, the "Now Playing" feature is designed to automatically detect and control media playback from any compatible app or website, including browsers like Safari or Chrome playing YouTube videos. There's no built-in setting in System Settings to restrict the "Now Playing" menu bar item to a single app (not "simple app" as I wrote earlier lol) like Museeks while excluding others like YouTube.
