Museeks playing in S16LE format instead of F32LE like other programs
I noticed that when a file is playing in Museeks it defaults to S16LE format (we can see this using the pw-top command) while in other players such as VLC or Haruna the same file uses the F32LE format which correctly follows my system's settings.
Please see the attached images for reference:
haruna and alsa_playback.vlc are using the F32LE format. museeks is using only S16LE:
These are my audio settings in Museeks, although it says "no audio output devices found" it still plays music. But I can't change this setting, it gives a 🚫 symbol when I hover the mouse Icon over it and try to change it:
Hello 👋
So I'll be honest, I have no idea what it means. It's not something I explicitly have control on as I leverage a built-in element to play sound, it's either an issue with Tauri, or libwebkitgtk-4.1.
I have been thinking about using ffmpeg to do playback, but it comes with so many edgecase to think about (dep management is ok on Linux, but what of Windows and Mac?), that it's still in very early inception in my mind.
Hey 👋🏻
So i'm not exactly sure what it means either to be honest but I thought i'd point it out to you just in case you knew what it meant... 😁 (but I know it's supposed to make some kind of difference for the audio quality or something)
Anyway I found this post that explains a bit about the difference between the formats like (F32LE and S16LE mentioned above): What is exactly the difference between all these PCM options?
Hope this is useful somehow to you... 😇
