"Show Cropping Limiter" should be called "Restrict Scan Area" or "Enable cropping limiter"
On old versions of Binary Eye there's no cropping limiter On new versions of Binary Eye the cropping limiter is on and customizeable by default, however: Disabling "Show Cropping Limiter" will still restrict the scan area, without the functionality of the button/handle to drag to resize the cropping limiter, observeable with version 1.50.0, Play Store flavor.
What I expect when I disable the "Show Cropping Limiter" is to enable scan on the whole camera viewport on screen, idential behaviour if I drag the cropping limiter to the edge of screen and the cropping limiter snaps to the whole screen. Please confirm if this is the intended behaviour.
My other suggestion is to rename "Show Cropping Limiter" to "Restrict Scan Area" because it is more communicable without needing explaination for the subtext.
Sorry, I see why this is confusing 🙈
Currently, the setting really only controls the visibility of the cropping button/handle.
The reason for this was that I was afraid that the handle might make the UI too choppy for some (you can tap anywhere to set a focus point, swipe to control the zoom, and then there's the FAB and the zoom bar at the bottom). So I wanted to allow setting a fixed region and then disable the possibly annoying handle.
To remove any previously set restriction and the handle, you would need to remove the restriction first and then disable "Show Cropping Limiter".
I realize this is too cumbersome and really not what anyone would expect. So I will change this behaviour to "Enable cropping limiter" and only use the restriction when the cropping control is visible too.
I agree, it doesn't seem to make sense from an UX perspective. There's no rush to implement this seeing that it's not big of a deal
