Vite instead of webpack

I think Marko serve is currently based on webpack. Is there plan to support vite instead?

We are considering it. There are some concerns still being addressed. Probably the most notable one is https://github.com/vitejs/vite/discussions/4230. CommonJS files can't be imported from Marko templates which is awkward for legacy parts of the ecosystem.

Outside of a few other small things Vite has been working pretty nicely so we definitely see benefit of using it for something like Marko Serve.
