Resource not found issue

I am getting an error

An error occurred (ResourceNotFoundException) when calling the UpdateFunctionCode operation: Function not found: An error occurred (ResourceNotFoundException) when calling the UpdateFunctionCode operation: Function not found: arn:aws:lambda:us-west-2:1233535:function:myfunction

Not sure if we need to create the function first?
