Inline Search Inactive on Search Page

On the Search Page itself ?s=foobar the inline search does not open on click. I tried to look into the assets/js/setup/jquery-desktop-menu.js file but I couldn't quite determine where or why this issue was happening.

@mapsteps I think the issue has to do with SVG icons and click events. In Wnidows Edge, Firefox, and Chrome when using SVG icons, clicking the search or to top doesn't trigger the event. If I add inline CSS on SVG like pointer-events: none; that seems to resolve the issue.
