Archive repository / add notice / fix documentation links

As this project is no longer in use by Mapbox but is still coming up in places like the GitHub recommended projects sidebar I just saw it in, is it worth archiving it, fixing the broken documentation links or adding a notice so as not to confuse people looking for something currently usable?
