Respect XDG Base Directory specification

Hi,

Great software. Super handy.

If I could just drop a suggestion in the suggestion bin, it would be to please begin supporting the XDG Base Directory spec rather than using ~/.torus indiscriminantly.

To my knowledge, there is not a way to change this using environment variables, is there?
