"starting-slide" + "random" together?

is it possible to have the slideshow be randomized BUT always start with the same one particular slide? so, always start on 0 but every slide thereafter be random? i've tried it with the demo & api code but as long as random is set to true, then it seems to ignore the starting-slide option. thanks.
