Progressive option - is it possible to load next slide to avoid delay?

I have a number of cycles on a page, each with a number of images defined to load progressively via JSON.

I was wondering if there is any way to preload the next slide automatically so that there is less of an inherent delay when clicking to advance the cycle?

I'm finding a latency of approximately 400-600ms which isn't huge but is definitely noticeable.
