[Feature Request] A couple of QoL Feature Requests

Open ecameracci opened this issue 5 months ago • 6 comments

Please let me know if I should make these separate issues!

A couple of small issues I noticed or things that would improve the QoL:

  • [ ] Options menu at the bottom of the list of podcasts extends past the bottom of a page
  • [ ] A "Clear Queue" button
  • [x] A "Mark all podcasts as played" button
  • [ ] An "Automatically download and keep the latest x podcasts" feature

Hi there, this issue is totally fine. Something I can check off as it gets implemented. I believe the mark all as played option already exists though. Go into a podcast, select all episodes, then mark complete:

Is that what you're looking for? Otherwise yes, those other ideas are great and I'll get working on it!

Not sure if it's just me, but I don't see a "select all" button 🤔 I checked, and I should be on the latest docker image too

Ahh, sorry you're right. I personally use the nightly image since I'm always testing as I build and iterate so I didn't even realize I hadn't released since that feature has made it in. Well either way, it's coming very soon since it's already implemented! Next release will have that.

I am in the process of setting up Pinepods myself, so i may just be missing something. I do have the Mark Complete option and have marked a podcast i listen to as all complete since i am up to date. But if i go to make a smart playlist that contains that podcast all the "complete" episodes are added. So while they're marked complete they are still added to a playlist as unlistened to. They seem to be shown in the Playlist as 1:00:00 of 1:00:00 listened to and from the playlist i can mark it as complete and then it goes away. So it seems that "complete" from viewing a podcast in particular is not the same as marking it "complete" in the playlist.

In this I have marked the whole podcast as "complete" then put it into a playlist, all the episodes still appear. I marked the first "complete" in this view and now it is seen as complete in the playlist. The text "-Complete" is added after i mark it complete along with the green check. Just my observations. I'd like to be able to "catch up" the podcast since i have listened to them in other apps.

I also just noticed the pill on the podcast in the podcast screen is not updated reflecting mark all complete

@corvock That pill is just an episode count for the given podcast. Not a completion status

And I'm currently working through playlist issues for the next upgrade. So check back on that playlist issue after 0.8.2 is released. Should fix that
