M1 Mac optimisation

Hello and thanks for the code.

I was wondering before I get into it, if the tools has been tested on M1 machines and if it is optimised to be used on them. I know that CUDA GPU compatibility is complicated with M1 macs and I've noticed in the installation instructions that you need cudatoolkit.
