Is there any possibility to open my own database file through Data Atom?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I was trying to do the same as Bartek here. Is there a different package I can use to do this? If not, what would be a good way for a learner to get access to a database for the purpose of practicing? I'm not looking to put together a whole professional setup.
