New snaps are not valid images.

node example/download_pending_snaps.js puts snaps in images, but they will not open in Preview or Photoshop for me on OS X.

Did Snapchat change their encryption key?

It seems to be the same key, it worked for me a few days ago, did you check to see if they were actually jpgs and to video snaps? (easy way to check is to run file /path/to/file
