remove cql cache ,this cahce causes hbase RegionsServer OOM for unknown reasons.This promble has discussed with Emilio in 2020/01, but I found no code changed . My modification does not seem to be a good solution, but it may help you find the cause of the problem.

@Susheldon thanks for putting up the PR. If we could wrap the alternate code in a system property (feature flag), I'd be happy to merge it.

thanks for the update! seems like it has caused a unit test to fail, although I'm not sure exactly why...
