Clarification on whether the LocalStack web application is a pro feature?

Open jaydorsey opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Some of the docs reference the LocalStack Web Application but when I visit that local URL I get a blank page and it's unclear to me if this is a paid/pro feature or not.

  • The OpenSearch User Guide tells you what you can do when you visit http://localhost.localstack.cloud:4566, but doesnt' say it's premium/pro/paid
  • The User Guide mentions "subscriptions" and "licenses" but doesn't say whether this itself is a paid feature
    • When I click the LocalStack Web Application link at the top of that page it takes me to https://app.localstack.cloud/ instead of http://localhost.localstack.cloud:4566 and I'm not sure if those are the same thing?
  • The LocalStack Pricing page isn't super clear on the details of what is and is not included
  • The Features page shows some Pro features, but the LocalStack Web Application doesn't seem to be listed

When i visit that local URL I get almost zero logs (a 200), no error message in the network traffic. So I think it's a free feature and I have something misconfigured (but I'm also not sure)

For context: I was just trying to look at some local data/resources on my local machine for local development and the docs seemed to steer me towards being able to look at the Resource Browser locally, but it's unclear if I should be able to do that or not
