Running local sip server with livekit cloud server
I'm trying to use a self hosted version of the sip server to connect to livekit cloud server. Is that supported ?
The doc says "To run against a local LiveKit server, a redis server must be running locally. All servers must be configured to communicate over localhost". Yet it does not mention running the sip server against LiveKit Cloud servers.
I tried using my cloud auth api_key, api_secret and ws_url but it does not seem to connect.
this wouldn't be possible. you can use the open source sip server with https://github.com/livekit/livekit/
are there any reasons why you'd want to use a locally hosted SIP server with Cloud?
Hi @davidzhao , I'm a paid customer of Livekit. As per our country regulation, to generate an outbound call, we need to host LiveKit SIP server in our local data center. We are okay to consume other Livekit services from your cloud.
Could you please support on this? I'm a staff from a local Telco.
Hello,
I'm using livekit cloud server and happy to pay for services but I am looking for a way to white label the sip server since this is the entrypoint for my clients. Hosted Livekit SIP server does not seem to support this so this leaves me with self hosting the sip server.
Unless you know of another way to achieve this. Ideally this would mean having a domain such as sip.mydomain.com to provide to my clients.
Thank you
@iLc0 we should have support for custom domains very soon. please contact us
@shirosh, let's chat. you can reach me at dz at livekit dot io
