Clear chat feature

Open Downchuck opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

I hooked in for a short time to persist.purge -- we need to have a "clear chat history" option for various reasons for users.

I was not clear, from our prior discussion, whether this repository is looking for or accepting Pull Requests. Looking forward to seeing the UI repository opened up. It's fun to squash some of the errors that pop up from the react app testing framework.

Hi there!

This is just an example repository showcasing how one might use our react ui kit - our intention was not making it feature-complete. If you'd like improve this example we'd be happy to accept a PR of course 😉

Sure, I'd love to send in some improvements. Do I need to sign a contributor agreement? What's the status on opening the underlying UI library that this references? It's currently a little hard to work out errors that may be hidden in it.

We plan to open source our UI library, it just need to prove itself a little bit more (don't take me wrong - we are successfully using it in production). At the moment we are stabilising its APIs.

Unfortunately we don't know when this is gonna happen, hopefully this year.

@Andarist I don't understand what you all mean by APIs -- isn't that just the React tag names and properties, as used in this widget? You'd said in #2 that we might see a release and license in the coming days.

Would it make sense to switch to React Material, then, if the Chat UI Kit isn't feasibly going to be released this year? It's a very nice showcase, I'm just a bit baffled why the UI Kit is being held back in closed-source form.
