MP2 data corruption

Open peteredhead opened this issue 10 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

I have run into a problem using dab2eti where the MP2 data contains nothing but what sounds like monkey chatter when played back.

The problem has been encountered on different PCs, using different types of RTLSDR sticks and multiple multiplexes around the country.

Here's what I'm seeing:

  • Using the latest version of dab2eti, I record the ETI for a few minutes.
  • The structure of the ETI is valid. (Sync, frame charactersation, stream characterisation, etc all look good)
  • I can also decode the FIC successfully.
  • If I extract the MP2 frames from the ETI, it looks like a valid file but when playing back it is nothing but high-pitched glitching noises.

What's strange is that the MP2 headers look absolutely fine:

I can supply ETI files if that helps.

Cheers, Pete

Hi Pete,

are all (MP2) sub-channels of an ETI recording concerned or only specific ones? A regarding ETI file would be helpful.

Regards, Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your reply. I am finding that all of the sub-channels in the ETI suffer from the same problem. I have made ETI file available here: http://we.tl/npcd5Smz5i

Trying the same approach with various files in the WorldDMB ETI library works fine.

Best wishes, Pete
