Surface Pro 5 Stuck at Windows Logo
I just got a Surface Pro 5 and installed Ubuntu on it and completely wiped the Windows install in the process. I started following the instructions to update the Kernal and got to the following section
This package will print instructions to the terminal. In case you missed those: It will ask you to reboot. Then, upon reboot, a blue menu (MokManager) should pop up, asking you whether you want to enroll the key. Confirm with ok/yes and when asked for a password enter surface. Note that MokManager expects a QWERTY keyboard layout, you may need to adjust your input accordingly. In case you missed the menu or accidentally chose the wrong options, you can uninstall (fully) and then reinstall the package and reboot to trigger the menu again.

and after reboot I am stuck at the Windows Logo. I have tried holding the power button, Holding power and Volume Down, Holding power button for 30 seconds.
I cannot get it past the windows logo and cannot get to booting from USB.
Environment
- Hardware model: Surface Pro 5
- Kernel version: ?
- Distribution: Ubuntu
Probably related to #1162 or #1274 @qzed, @StollD, what do you think about pinning these two issues?
I am going to try to downgrade the firmware tonight an will report back. Thanks for the link to the post.
AFAIK in Fedora it is possible to install system using systemd-boot to bypass the issue. Maybe it works for Ubuntu too https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/cleanup_systemd_install
I had the same issue after getting the kernel installed on Surface Laptop Go gen1. Got it all installed but stuck on windows logo on boot. To get past it I hit my volume down key which is the boot device menu on the SLG, and that seemed to trigger the MokManager screen.
