tlp and power-profile-daemon are incompatible,However, many desktop environments allow control of the energy profile via ppd. tuned, the software developed by Red Hat, contains a daemon (tuned-ppd) that pretends to be ppd and forwards requests to tuned. In this way, desktop environments can use tuned as if it were ppd.

My proposal is to create a similar daemon that interacts with tlp.

PPD's "performance" and "balanced" profile would be tlp's AC while PPD's "power" would be tlp's BAT.
