Solving microstrip modes

Hello can we solve modes involving metals or PEC eg RF microstrip? I tried replacing metal with a big epsilon value (FDTD trick) but got higher order modes instead. Sometimes I can get the fundamental mode by tweaking resolution or margins but wondering if there's standard way of incorporating metals.

I have never used EMpy for your use-case: I am not sure it's suitable.
