App icon in Menu Bar disappeared and replaced with orange recording microphone, cannot undo
Description of the bug I somehow managed to hide the BackgroundMusic app icon from my Menu Bar, and it has been replaced with the orange recording microphone icon. I now can't open (or even locate) the BackgroundMusic menu to undo what I did or change any other preferences in the app. Please help me reverse whatever I did to show the icon again. I tried uninstalling the app following the directions using Terminal (which worked to remove it from my MacBook), then I reopened the BackgroundMusic-0.4.3.pkg from my Downloads folder and reinstalled it, but it immediately showed the orange recording icon again.
Steps to reproduce
- In the Menu Bar, click on the BackgroundMusic app icon.
- (I think I clicked on) Preferences
- I forget exactly what I clicked on, but it was along the lines of "hide icon."
- Now I can't get into the BackgroundMusic app preferences to even find out the name of the setting I clicked on to help you reproduce it or locate the version of the app in the "About BackgroundMusic" tab...
Versions
- Background Music: Unknown...maybe 0.4.3? (see above)
- macOS: Sequoia Version 15.5 (24F74)
Hardware
- Computer: MacBook Air (13.6-inch, 2022, M2)
- Audio Device: Built-in Output. Manufacturer: Apple Inc. Output Channels: 2
Me too...
all the same
Can Background Music make it optional for Microphone Access on the mac?
Same, and I'm also with Sequoia Version 15.5 and Mac Air. Maybe related to this situation? But it has been like that since I just downloaded it (which is just now).
Same, I never have opened it successfully since I installed it.(Sequoia Version 15.5)
