High CPU Usage - IntelliJ 13 Community

CPU Usages of 90 to 350% on Ubuntu 13.10 / IntelliJ 13 Community Edition. The CPU usage reverts back to <15% when any dialog is open, or when the plugin is disabled.

This problem also occurs on one or more other computers (IntelliJ 12) on Ubuntu 12.04
