Bulk Programming with Edge Connectors
Hello Kooscode,
Since I saw this project a few years ago I've been meaning to give it a try. But it's always been in the back of my mind to design a new xenium modchip better suited in attaching to a programmer such as this using an edge connector.
I started mocking up a couple of designs...
(1) Xenium modchip that can be slotted into a 2x10pin edge connector, which gives us more than enough pinouts for CPLD and FLASH Memory.
(2) Programming board that can support up to x5 Xenium modchips at a time for bulk (x5 push button) or single (x1 push button) programming.
-
I figured the modchips could be power cycled one at a time during bulk programming with a status LED to show current modchip being powered.
-
Bi-color LED that doubles as power LED and status LED. Status LED is on during programming and flashes if errors.
-
Before programming there are a couple of switches for CPLD and FLASH that can be set to either true or false.
I'd be interested to see what you think about this concept.
Cheers, Nem
