Suggestion: "paste-special" hotkey/menu option, perhaps popup menu with more cool paste-special options

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened this issue 10 years ago • 3 comments

How about a "paste-special" option that pastes only "non-null" cells, i.e.
cells with a note and/or an effect, into only "null" cells. This would make it
a lot easier to merge patterns.

I could even popup a window with a multiple choice, because I can think of a
couple more nice options for easier creativity:
* (checkbox, default off) only paste into empty cells (as per above)
* (checkbox, default off) only paste cells with instrument number: <##>
* (checkbox, default on) paste notes
* (checkbox, default on) paste effects
       <CANCEL> <OK>

It would allow for faster and easier (thus more productive) trial&error and
"hmm, let's see how this would sound"-actions, resulting in more creativity I
would say. Just a suggestion.

There already is a "join paste" (I think that's the term in other trackers)
that pastes the non-empty data. Just like if a picture had a magical
transparent color. I think it's CTRL+J.

The help box needs a search function it seems!

Hmmz, cool :) Maybe include it in the "edit" menu at least then; easier to
find. That is indeed exactly what I meant. Nice function! Very good to know.
