on command not working for LG C4

Open themorien opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

MacBook Pro 2019 (Intel) Sonoma 14.2.1 LG C4 42" running WebOS 03.11.20

Running the below to turn the screen on from an off state doesn't work. No response is given. lgtv --name MyTV --ssl on

Have tested the following commands, all work perfectly.

lgtv --name MyTV --ssl off lgtv --name MyTV --ssl screenOff lgtv --name MyTV --ssl screenOn lgtv --name MyTV --ssl swInfo lgtv --name MyTV --ssl volumeDown lgtv --name MyTV --ssl volumeUp

After commands run, all working commands respond with a specific line, followed by: {"closing": {"code": 1000, "reason": ""}} on command gives no response at all.

@themorien the on command doesn't give me a response either, but it turns on a C2 running WebOS 04.40.93. Did you try the debug option?

I had the same issue on my LG OLED G4 and I figured out the solution: You must turn on "TV On With Mobile". On my TV the option is found under Settings > General > External Devices > TV On With Mobile > Turn on via Wi-Fi.
