RFE: allow shifting subtitles for more than 100 ms

Open yarda opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

I had subtitles which was shifted by 1.5 minute. I found sentence in the foreign language in the movie which I was able to understand and the corresponding subtitle (which was somewhere in the middle of the movie) and observed that the shift is 1.5 minute. Then shifting all subtitles by the 1.5 minute was really pain. I had to map hotkey for the shift 100ms function. Then I had to repeatedly press the hotkey for cca. 10 minutes.

It would be great if there would be some dialog for arbitrary move, not just the 100 ms steps.

Hi, You have the tool Move Subtitles (Ctrl+M) in the Timings menu, you can select one subtitle and move it with all next subtitles or only the selected one if you check the option.

Best regards, kitone

Is it possible to also move the previous subtitles? I.e. all subtitles, not just the following subtitles.

If not, I think it's also doable, by just finding the offset and then moving the first and all the following subtitles.

I created this RFE because it was more intuitive approach to use the shift function. If you think it doesn't make sense to have configurable time steps for this function, feel free to close this.
