Booking Integration

Hi, great plugin, very excited to use this for my client. I know it has been requested before but wanted to put in my own request for WooCommerce Bookings plugin - will be perfect then. If this is being implemented already, do you have a rough timeframe? Thanks

The WC Bookings plugin is the most requested for integration, which means it will almost certainly be the first plugin I look at when integrating third party plugins ... however, this will only happen after version 1.0 when the core POS features have been completed. There is no timeframe on this yet, certainly several months at the earliest.

That's not to say that someone couldn't start the process by mapping out the requirements! I will assist in any way that I can with comments.

I swear to God Almighty: I'm almost at the point where I don't know, nor do I care what it's going to take for you to focus on this full time and get it d-o-n-e, but I'm sure as hell willing to flat out ask.

@kilbot:

What is going to take for you to focus on this FULL TIME?

No bullshit.

No, I'm not rich, but I do have a damn good knack for being able to come up with money.

How much, How many people, How much time, ..............

As best as possible, bottom lined:

What do You need to focus on this full time?

I've followed several for years. And, by far, yours is the best.

:+1:

If you had all the money in the world, and all the developers at your disposal, to get this done... what would that "perfect unicorn" scenario look like? how many people? and how long?

I am currently working on WooCommerce POS full-time.

I understand that Bookings is very important for small number of users, but please keep in mind that other users are similarly passionate about their required feature. My focus at the moment is creating a solid foundation for WooCommerce POS. I can't justify working on a feature for 5% of the users when core POS features such as receipt printing and daily reports are still incomplete. Also keep in mind that about half my week is spent providing support for the plugin.

Being obnoxious and shouting on GitHub is not the best way to move this forward, but given that you have asked, here is what I think it will take to get a Bookings integration as quickly as possible:

A talented developer should be able to do the job for $US2000 - 5000. It would be the lower end if WooCommerce Bookings has support for the WC REST API, I am unsure what stage they are at, WooCommerce Subscriptions has only very recently added support for the REST API.

Ideally the developer would have some experience with WooCommerce and they definitely need to comfortable with Backbone.js. I will create a separate branch for the Bookings integration and be available to explain how the POS works and assist where I can. If the developer is able to successfully deliver the Bookings integration, and happens to be looking for more work, I will certainly offer them a full-time position after this initial contract.

So, @BurlesonBrad, if you want to help and have the money to pay a developer for the integration, please feel free to advertise for a developer. As long as they have some displayed experience of Backbone.js I can take them the rest of the way.

Of note, this was added in 3.1.6.7 on 2016 Oct 11 in a competing WooCommerce POS plugin, if it is of urgent need: https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-point-of-sale-pos/7869665
