Media buttons when screen is off

Open ron-1986 opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Hey, the info text in the app states, that it's impossible to use the hardware buttons when the screen is off, because it's a limitation of Android.

This seems to be not accurate, because I have been using an app called "Volumee" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.maslanka.volumee which can do it at least for media (next/prev track) when the screen is off without root on Android 13 (haven't tested on others)

I have no insight into android programming, so I have got no idea on how they do it but maybe you guys are interested to take a look.

So this might be a nice feature for KeyMapper.

Thanks for the great work!

Key Mapper already can do this as long as the AOD is active. At least on Pixels. Well, usually, it's unstable. The app description for Volumee reads to me like it also requires the Always on Display to be showing?

Hey, no it doesn't. I use Volumee and have AOD off.
