Clicking links launches Chrome which is not default

In my Keybase app (on Debian 10, Gnome 3) clicking links brings up Chromium even though Firefox is set as the default browser and Firefox is set as the browser in all system settings and config I know of, so it seems that the choice to launch chromium is in keybase itself.

I have this same problem on Ubuntu.

I worked around it by editing ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and adding the following options:

[Default Applications]
x-scheme-handler/mailto=firefox_firefox.desktop
x-scheme-handler/http=firefox_firefox.desktop
x-scheme-handler/https=firefox_firefox.desktop
