Stability and Release Versioning

Establish a release & support policy (LTS vs nightly), maintain a changelog (CHANGELOG.md?) carefully, and communicate clearly when backward-incompatible changes happen (e.g. need to re-flash root module).

For example, adopt semantic versioning, label “stable” vs “alpha/experimental” releases, and give release notes with migration/upgrade instructions (e.g. when root module must be re-flashed).
