is it possible to mark multiple files at once ?
What I am looking for is like the multiple selection in Windows where with Shift + select, you can extend a selection. Or something like in Vim where using Visual mode you can create a selection by using move commands. Basically if I would like to Mark many many images it would be faster if I didn't need to mark them one by one ...
Thanks for your interest in vimiv!
You have a few options here:
In case you wish to stay with this legacy gtk version, the best I can offer you is the :mark_between command. You mark the first image you would like to have marked, then the last one and finally run :mark_between to have them all selected.
If you have the option to switch to the newer qt port, see migrating for some more information, you can:
- Use mark with shell-like globs, e.g.
:mark *.jpg - Install and use the BatchMark plugin which emulates the behaviour of
:mark_between, but without the hassle of using an additional command
Feel free to ask any questions if you need help switching / installing the plugin / ...
Hope this helps!
Oh, my bad, I didn't mean to post in the vimiv-gtk, just got confused. Thank you for your suggestions, yes, I am setting up and learning vimiv-qt and will take a look at mark_between. Thanks again !
Sorry, the confusion is real and my fault :innocent:
Note: :mark_between never made it to the port, but the mentioned plugin is superior in every way. We might decide to merge it into the main codebase at some point.
Sounds good, will check it out, thanks!
