soundfont sidecarfile
Awesome project! Would be great if the songs would be more portable & share-able, for example by implementing the soundfont sidecarfile spec for fluidsynth:
mysong.nahd
mysong.sf2
this would hint noteaheadtracker to load mysong.sf2 into fluidsynth.
It would make the experience a bit more batteries-included.
According to the spec a global (specified) soundfont could be loaded (~/.noteahead/default.sf2 e.g.), in case no sidecarfile is found.
Potential: portable studio-in-a-soundfont, noteahead compos focused around a specific soundfont, polyphone soundfont-editor on the side (as sf2 patcheditor).
That's an interesting idea and I too think that there should be at least MIDI export (although that would exclude some .nahd-only features). One option would be to write external converter scripts to transform .nahd into other formats. IIRC they are doing something like this in e.g. Renoise.
