Extending Juno Sign-in Options to Include Google Sign-in

Open mzurs opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

Currently, Juno supports Internet Identity (II) as a sign-in option, which is a secure way to access any decentralized application (Dapp). However, I believe that there is a need to extend the sign-in options to include NFID(Google Sign-in). This is because Google Sign-in is a more convenient way to access Dapps, and it would make it easier for new users to access the Juno console. Additionally, other ecosystems have already adopted this approach, such as the Binance extension wallet, which uses Web3Auth to support Google Sign-in.

I think adding NFID nfid.one to the existing Internet Identity only could such a promising extension.

@mzurs this will only make the user/team adoption a little easier but topping up a canister is still very crypto until the Credit Card to cycles is added to juno.

I think adding NFID nfid.one

Just for the record, NFID is already supported.

I thought for console.juno.build. I know that it's already possible for the dApps that we own.

@f0i this is maybe something you are able to contribute.

I've got other plans for the Console. I don't rule out extending it with Google sign-in someday, but it's not currently in my plans. Therefore, I've labeled this as "on hold."
