pollTimeout and pollInterval to view progress from the command line.

What is the right way to use pollTimeout and pollInterval? When I run the gulpfile.js with these 2 properties as specified on your home page, it initiates the process and then shows me the command line but when I check the deployment status of the org, the process hasn't finished running. I've had success using pollWaitMillis with ant deploy and it polls the process and shows me the command line only after the process completes. Hope I'm not missing something. Thanks!
