Speed up time?
Is there a way to speed up the simulation? Nothing happens when I press the "Full Speed" button in the Time control box.
the speed up simply removes de framerate cap so there are two possibilities:
- your pc is at max capacity already
- the button is not working
what happens if you use Full Speed with just a few ants? does it works in this case?
I´m using the AntSimulator-Editor. I reduced the ants to 1000 in conf-file, which seems to be the lowest possible. My CPU is about 40% and no real change when I press the button. I also tryed 4.1 version, and same/similar result there. I don´t know if I can do any other change then that.
You are not the only one mentionning this issue, maybe there is something else. Do you have multiple monitors connected at the same time?
same issue here using a laptop and the program only taking 40% of CPU and button doesn't work
Do you know how to compile it? Since I cannot reproduce the issue (neither on my Windows or Mac machines) I would like to create a branch to push potentiel fixes and let you give me feedback.
Do you mean the source code? Because I´m just opening the AntSim program. For that I would have to install c++ first i guess. Which i could possibly do in june when I have time.
I have the AntSimulator 4.1 source installed, compiled under VS2K19. The Full Speed button only works for me in Release build.
Thanks for your feedback. That's probably because without release optimizations the program is already at max speed even when the toggle is disabled.
My full speed button is not working either. Which file is the time sped up in?
