xterm / urxvt do not maximize all the way to the edge of the screen

Hello there i have this in my config:

<Group>
  <Option>tiled</Option>
  <Option>noborder</Option>
  <Option>maximized</Option>
</Group>

so every window should start maximized it works, but not for xterm and urxvt, these have a small gap on the right side and on the bottom other windows cover the whole screen

any idea why this happens?

For text-cell based applications like terminals, the size is calculated at the cell level (the size of one character cell) rather than the pixels. So it is common for the size to be slightly less than the workspace area. Otherwise you might end up with the bottom line (or rightmost column) being partially obscured.

It looks like urxvt has no titlebar but I don't see a notitle option? Do you have any other groups configured?

@internet-police you might need to add <Option>iignore</Option> to ignore window size hints set by urxvt.
